Easy to use

With just an internet connection, you can start using HN and benefit from our streamlined data storage and management approach. This allows your IT teams to focus on their core mission, rather than getting bogged down in data management.

Compared to the complex and labour-intensive operations required to develop and maintain current infrastructures—whether on-premises or in the cloud—HN offers a simplicity-based ease of use. By providing a horizontal framework for storing multiple databases (as many as a user needs), HN makes accessing any type of data—from legacy to high-priority—as straightforward as using an API and DLL to structure any query or data exchange via JSON formatting.

Another excellent advantage is that our infrastructure works without any hardware requirements or extra software installations. If you want to run a node device, a straightforward setup program handles the entire installation.

HN's infrastructure also includes features not offered by current platforms, for example:

• Easily share data with other companies or applications by setting the rights for the data you want to share. The data is then instantly and securely shared with whoever or whatever application you have given access.
• If an employee sabotages or makes unwanted changes to data, all data changes and transactions within a timeframe can be rolled back with a simple command.
• Any application can draw data from multiple databases with a single query.

Migrating applications is somewhat more complex, which is why we advise reaching out to your regional HN partner for extra support with migration, integration, and development.

Reliable, Always-On Services

HN consistently maintains at least five copies of all data, ensuring they are readily available and synchronised for data integrity. If a replication fails (for example, if a storage device is taken offline), HN automatically generates an additional copy within five seconds. To offer greater flexibility and control, we also enable users to restrict where their data is stored and processed by region or country on nodes (the managers and processors of data). This allows users to geofence their data within specific regions or exclude certain regions from their default data distribution.

With HN, there is no longer a need for complicated data-sharing platforms. Our framework provides built-in sharing features that are strong, reliable, secure, transparent, and auditable. Say farewell to missed opportunities and welcome a competitive advantage.

Because of HN's decentralised structure, your data is accessible anywhere and to anyone you permit. This allows collaboration with other companies using the same real-time datasets, with access configured as you prefer, to whom you want, when you want, and for as long as you want—ranging from entire databases to individual columns or rows.

This offers a significant streamlining of business operations. As many companies have started leveraging the value of exchanging data with partners, the term "API economy" has been introduced. However, APIs are another example of a newer technology stack built on an older one, leading to many issues: new points of attack, rate-limited APIs, and numerous new maintenance challenges.

To help bypass some of these issues, shared data is often replicated and made static, after which it begins to function independently and eventually becomes outdated. By using HN to unlock your data's potential, performance and network sharing will no longer be problems, while system functionality will also be improved. Additionally, data access can be monitored and audited within the same management console. With HN, there's no need to build new infrastructure — it already exists, delivering performance and availability just like local storage.

Need to perform big-data analytics on real-time datasets from various companies and institutions? No problem. There is even potential for organisations to share data for big-data analytics without granting human users access to the dataset, thus keeping actual records in-house.

The internet never expected big data. Our infrastructure is designed for it.

Scalability

HN scales itself. You will never reach a limit in storage or performance. Preserving instances or upgrading to a higher service tier is unnecessary. Our system scales with you and manages all the details.

Current cloud solutions promise scalability, but this means only the ability to scale, with actual execution up to you, requiring planning and reserved (and paid for) additional capacity and computing power in advance. HN delivers its scalability promise automatically. Storage and processing are available when needed. No service upgrades. No new contracts. Only the capacity and performance you need, when you need it.

Own and Control Your Data

HN enables you to collaborate with SaaS providers without handing over technical control of your data. This means you can enjoy the advantages of cloud- based services without compromising security and ownership.

Software as a Service (SaaS) should offer functionality, but due to the current technology stack, almost all SaaS providers officially own your data. For some companies, SaaS solutions are the principal sources of truth for their data. But why do you need to ask SaaS providers for your datasets? Employees or sensors are often entering this data, which typically concerns your customers or product(s). Fortunately, most SaaS providers have an API for data integration, and some even permit the replication of data within customer-controlled platforms.

We love to see this change: the application can be provided by the SaaS provider, but the data is written into your database, which you own and control. Concerned that the data might be accessed for other purposes than the application? You can at least start investigating this in the audit logs of data access, especially if the SaaS provider also maintains an audit log of actions undertaken by employees.

Having legal issues with a SaaS provider, and they are holding your data hostage? In the proposed structure, it's the other way around: you restrict the SaaS provider's rights, and they no longer have access. It's your data to start with.

These are just a few examples of the shift in data ownership that HN facilitates.

Simple Pricing, Low Costs

HN offers complete functionality without setup costs or licenses, allowing you to start immediately. You only pay for your storage and bandwidth at the lowest possible prices. No additional costs for security or reservation of additional storage space.

We can reduce corporate costs by eliminating the various expenses related to vulnerabilities, hardware maintenance, software licences, DNS routers, firewalls, web servers, VPNs, and application servers, to name just a few. In this way, we also eliminate many headaches. You can build and run your own business without needing extensive IT knowledge or hiring someone to manage complex tasks like business logic, firewalls, security, encryption, and database management.

You only pay for the storage you actually use and for the bandwidth used when retrieving or manipulating your data. Ours is a true pay-per-use model. However, due to the way HN works, there is different pricing for data stored in various priority tiers (for performance). This is automatically managed to meet the needs of your applications. During heavy database use in office hours, data might be scaled to a higher-cost priority tier to maintain performance. After office hours, within 15 minutes, the data will drop to a lower priority tier, allowing room for other applications that require more performance.

You can choose which priorities to enable, but when you disable higher tier priorities, we can no longer guarantee server responses within 3 seconds.
